It was the most awaited trek, since my teenage days. I decided to execute my plan anyway, anyhow, even if it makes me a solo traveler. We started our journey from Delhi on Friday, I and my friends somehow managed to reach the base camp i.e., Barshaini for the Kheerganga Trek. ‘Bonfire, a sweet corn soup bowl and a fancy full plate of white sauce pasta’ I always had a plan for spending night after reaching 3000 meters above ground level. Although the trek was not easy at all, yes it was manageable, as I am not an exercise doing person. This Parvati Valley is the crown jewel of all the nearby treks.
This delightful trekking to Kheerganga enabled me to explore the real beauty of Kheerganga.Trek through the rugged mountainous terrain that gave me stunning landscapes views. I was so much delighted in the natural beauty that was accompanying me. We made our way through small beautiful villages and witnessed the local life of the people. While going ahead I found a street dotted with restaurants serving Israeli cuisine, even though I saw many of the visitors were Israelis. Though, I was not lucky enough to spend some time with them as there was no party planned during my time of travel. The tranquil environment all-around was creating the vicinity so happening that even all the tiredness of the trek was smeared after seeing all those smiling faces nearby.
The trek was just 12 km but it took us 6 long hours to reach the top. The views on this trek were invigorating, slowing unveiling the depth of the terrain. While trekking towards the top we learned a few things about the unique culture of the region.
Parvati Valley Trek
The Parvati valley is one of the most picturesque regions of the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh. Numerous waterfalls, hot spring pools, snow-covered peaks and the enormous greenery all around. The beautiful view of the dense forests left my eyes-popped.
Parvati valley accompanied us throughout the trek from one side and the other side the dense apple and walnut orchards gave us the company. Even the farmers allowed us to pluck the fresh fruits and let them taste us. The hospitality which local residents offered us were impeccable. The trek was through jungles and through the rocks even with many steps and turns. After reaching the top of the trek the tiredness of the whole trek which had many ups and downs was smeared away after a dip in the hot springs of Kheerganga in Parvati Valley. The one-of-a-best experience was relaxing in a hot spring while admiring vistas of snow-capped peaks that are now with me forever as memories. The vistas from such high altitude left me spellbound. We arranged our tents in-a-midst of the mighty snow-laden mountains.
Kheerganga’s panoramic skies and vast greenery was much-needed delight to my eyes after the whole day long trek and the beautiful vicinity smashed my tiredness. It was a rare combination to bath in hot spring water when everything is covered by snow. At night we all cooked the food by our own, some strangers were transformed into good friends for life, music, dance, the dazzling stars, the cold soothing breeze all was adding a lot to make the memories for lifelong.
Kheerganga Mountain View
On Second day, I woke up a bit early just to see that mesmerising view of the sunrise from the mid of the 2 mountains that were capped through ice and snow and the snow was evaporating slowly as the beams of sunlight were directly falling on the peaks and the terrain of the mountain ranges and all those tall trees. The slow chirping of birds, cold breeze, the greenery all around was giving me a view of some fairy tale, where the Prince is waiting for her Princess to meet, and rest everything was just adding a charm to this scenic view of the fairy tale.
After some time everyone woke up and a hot cup of tea with a bowl of pasta was served as breakfast, and my fantasy became the reality of that morning. My smile had its best curve on my face although deep down in my heart I was knowing it, that it was all about to end within some time. We started our trek back to Barshaini and then we all bid bye to each other and took the memories which we shared. But the best glimpse of nature and the pictures which I clicked for myself are still with me at their best. Memories never fade away instead they get renewed every time you recall them. Even right now I can feel the chilled breezes that were just attacking my cheeks that morning.
